Standing at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain is a dream many share—and the Mount Everest Base Camp trek makes that dream a reality. This iconic 15-day journey takes you deep into the heart of the Khumbu region, through alpine forests, roaring rivers, and ancient Sherpa villages. Every step is full of wonder, from the exciting flight to Lukla to the breathtaking view from Kala Patthar.

The path goes through Namche Bazaar, an old trading center, past monasteries with prayer flags hanging from them, and finally up to Everest Base Camp, where climbers start their trip. Our program includes two well-planned acclimatization days to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable trip. Itinerary

Once you land at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel, a lively hub filled with trekking shops and restaurants. Today is all about rest and preparation. You’ll meet your guide, get a trek briefing, and check your gear.

We begin with a scenic morning flight to Lukla—a thrilling 35 minutes over the Himalayas. After landing, we start the trek with an easy walk through charming Sherpa villages, crossing rivers and enjoying views of Kusum Kanguru.

We enter Sagarmatha National Park and hike uphill alongside the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge, a tough climb brings us to Namche Bazaar—the vibrant Sherpa capital with bakeries, gear shops, and cafes.

We stay in Namche to let our bodies adjust to the altitude. You can hike to Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for incredible mountain panoramas or visit the local museum to learn about Sherpa culture and Everest history.

Today’s trail offers amazing views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. After a descent to the river, we climb through forests to reach Tengboche. The serene monastery here is perfect for an afternoon visit.

Walk through rhododendron forests and alpine terrain, crossing rivers and grazing pastures. Dingboche is a peaceful village surrounded by snowy peaks, and the altitude really starts to show.

We stay another night here to prevent altitude sickness. A short uphill hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100m) rewards us with stunning views and helps with acclimatization.

The trail gets rockier as we move through valleys and glacial moraines. A sobering moment comes as we pass the memorials of climbers who lost their lives on Everest. We reach Lobuche by late afternoon.

This is the big day! We trek to Gorak Shep and leave our bags before continuing to Mount Everest Base Camp. Stand beneath the Khumbu Icefall and soak in the moment. After photos and rest, we return to Gorak Shep.

We start early to catch sunrise over Everest from Kala Patthar one of the most iconic views in the Himalayas. Then we descend to Pheriche, a village known for its mountain rescue center.

We follow familiar paths, retracing our steps past Tengboche and crossing rivers. By evening, we arrive back at bustling Namche Bazaar.

It’s our final day on the trail. We descend through forests and cross suspension bridges, enjoying the last mountain views before celebrating in Lukla with your guide and team.

An early flight returns us to the capital. Take the rest of the day to relax, enjoy city comforts, or shop for souvenirs.

Useful Information

Best Time to Go: The optimum time to hike to Mount Everest Base Camp is in the spring (March to May) and fall (September to November). The skies are clear, the temperatures are warm, and the vistas of the mountains are greatest during these months.

Weather: The temperature can go from balmy days to frigid nights.  Be ready for cold winds and maybe even snow at higher altitudes, especially from Lobuche onward, even during the busiest times of year.

Altitude and Acclimatization: The walk climbs up to more than 5,000 meters, which is high.  We have two days of acclimatization planned to assist you get used to things.  But anyone can still get altitude sickness.  If you don’t feel well, walk carefully, drink water, and talk to your guide.

Lodging: You’ll stay at teahouses, which are small local lodges with basic rooms that are frequently shared.  Dining halls are warm and friendly.  Most of the time, people share bathrooms, however certain stops have hot showers for an additional fee.

Food on the Trek: The food is simple but filling.  You can expect to see dal bhat (rice and lentils), soups, noodles, pasta, potatoes, eggs, and tea.  Most tea cafes have menus that are good for vegetarians.  Don’t consume meat after Namche; it’s not fresh.

Wi-Fi and Charging: Some teahouses charge for Wi-Fi, but the connection isn’t very strong.  It also costs money to charge technological devices.  To stay charged, bring a solar charger or power bank.

Flight Tips: The weather might affect flights from Kathmandu to Lukla, so they might be late.  We put a buffer day in the schedule to keep things from getting too messy.  Make sure your overseas flights are always flexible.

Trek Difficulty: The high altitude and long time make this trek hard.  You will walk on uneven ground for 5 to 7 hours every day.  You don’t need any technical abilities, but you do need to be in good shape and have a lot of mental strength.

Insurance: You have to have travel insurance.  It should include emergency helicopter evacuation and cover trekking at high altitudes up to 6,000 meters.  No exclusions.
