Overview
Lobuche East Peak Climbing is an exciting Himalayan journey that combines the famous trekking route to Everest Base Camp with a thrilling climb to the top of Lobuche East (6,119 meters). This 19-day trip is great for trekkers who want to climb their first Himalayan peak. It has a good mix of cultural experiences, technical climbing, and challenges at high elevations.
The trip starts with a beautiful flight to Lukla. Next, there is a beautiful hike through the heartlands of the Sherpas, passing through Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, and Dingboche. After getting used to the altitude, you’ll go to Lobuche Base Camp, where our experienced climbing guides will teach you how to use ropes, crampons, and safety measures. With one of the best views in the Khumbu area, the summit push gives you a view of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, and other nearby peaks that you will never forget.
This trip is designed for people who are fit and have done some trekking before. It includes proper acclimatization, professional direction, and full logistical support. You will have lifelong memories and mountaineering faith after climbing Lobuche East Peak, whether you want to get better at mountaineering or just want to set a personal goal.
Itinerary
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our friendly team will be there to greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Thamel. After check-in, you’ll meet your guide for a short briefing about the trip.

Enjoy a half-day cultural tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath. Later, we finalize logistics, do a gear check, and prepare climbing permits.

A breathtaking flight takes us to Lukla. From here, we begin trekking through Sherpa villages and lush forests along the Dudh Koshi River.

Today is challenging yet rewarding. We cross several suspension bridges and enter Sagarmatha National Park. A final steep climb leads to Namche, the vibrant heart of the Khumbu region.

We hike to Syangboche or Everest View Hotel for stunning panoramas. Optional visit to the Sherpa Museum. The day helps your body adjust to the altitude.

We follow a scenic trail with mountain views and descend to the river before a steady uphill to Tengboche Monastery, a spiritual and scenic highlight.

Trek through rhododendron forests and alpine landscapes, with Ama Dablam towering above. The air gets thinner, so we go slow and steady.

A short but steep hike to Nagarjun Hill (5,100m) helps with acclimatization. We return early to rest and hydrate.

We walk past yak pastures, memorials at Thukla Pass, and glacial moraines as we near the base of high mountains.

Today, we leave the main trail and head toward the quieter Lobuche East Base Camp, our staging ground for the climb.

Our guides lead a hands-on training session: how to use harnesses, ropes, jumar, crampons, and ice axes. Safety is the top priority.

A short yet steep trek takes us to High Camp. We'll rest early and prepare gear for the summit push.

We begin the climb around 1 am. The route involves rock, snow, and fixed ropes. After reaching the summit, enjoy panoramic views before descending.

Kept as a buffer for weather delays or altitude-related issues. Can also be used to rest or descend if the summit was achieved early.

After a successful climb, we descend through alpine valleys to Pangboche, a peaceful village with beautiful views.

We retrace our steps past Tengboche and descend back to Namche for well-earned rest and good coffee.

Our final day on the trail takes us back through Phakding to Lukla, where we celebrate with our climbing crew.

Who Can Join This Trip?
Suitable for trekkers with previous high-altitude experience. You don’t need to be a professional climber, but basic fitness and willingness to learn are essential.
Climbing Grade: Lobuche East is a Trekking Peak (PD+/AD) under Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). It involves steep snow slopes and fixed rope use, but it’s manageable with proper guidance.
Best Seasons: Spring (April–May) and Autumn (October–November) provide the best weather clear skies, dry conditions, and stable temperatures.
Altitude Sickness: We include acclimatization days and follow a “climb high, sleep low” strategy. Our guides carry Diamox and a medical kit, and monitor your health closely.

Accommodation Style:

Food & Water: Nutritious local and continental meals are served. Boiled/filtered water is available, or you can bring purification tablets for extra safety.
Electricity & Charging: Limited charging is available at teahouses (extra fee). Carry a power bank or solar charger. Wi-Fi is available in Namche, Tengboche, and a few other villages for a fee. Satellite communication is used during climbing days.
Travel Insurance: Mandatory. Your policy must cover high-altitude trekking, mountaineering, and helicopter evacuation.
Gear Checklist: Down jacket, thermal layers, climbing boots, sleeping bag (-10°C), ice axe, harness, helmet, headlamp, crampons, gaiters, gloves, and sunglasses. Rental is available in Kathmandu.

It is considered a moderately technical climb, suitable for those who have prior trekking experience and basic rope skills. Pre-climb training is included.
Not necessarily. We offer a full-day climbing training at base camp. However, good fitness and some trekking experience at altitude are required.
Spring (April to May) and Autumn (October to November) are the best months with clear skies and dry conditions.
Wi-Fi is available in Namche and a few other villages. Satellite phones are carried for emergency communication.
You’ll need an NMA Peak Climbing Permit, Sagarmatha National Park Entry, and TIMS card all arranged by us.
