Overview
The Ruby Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s most beautiful hidden journeys—quiet, culturally rich, and full of natural surprises. This off-the-beaten-path trail goes deep into the Ganesh Himal range, between the famous Langtang and Manaslu regions. There, snow-capped peaks, lush forests, and traditional villages all come together to make an unforgettable journey.
What makes this trek so special isn’t just the mountain views, though those are truly spectacular, especially from Pangsang La Pass (3,842 m). It’s the feeling of walking through places where time slows down. You’ll hike through rhododendron forests and farmlands, past waterfalls and wild orchids, and stay in homes of Tamang and Gurung families, where the welcome is genuine and meals are cooked with love. Unlike crowded trekking routes, here you’ll meet only a few fellow travelers—and many more locals happy to share their stories.
This trek is ideal for those who want a real experience of Nepal away from busy trails but still full of beauty and challenge. It offers high ridges, hot springs, ancient monasteries, and a chance to support community-based tourism. Whether you’re a first-timer or a repeat traveler looking for something different, Ruby Valley will surprise and move you.

Useful Information
Best Time to Go
When is the best time to do the Ruby Valley Trek? Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November). You can look forward to clear air, nice weather, and amazing mountain views during these months. In the summer, monsoon rains make the roads slippery and visibility poor. In the winter, it can get cold and snowy sometimes.
Charging and Wi-Fi
Along the hiking trail, there is no Wi-Fi. For a small fee, some towns have places where you can charge your phone or camera. Bring a reliable power bank with you so that your electronics stay charged during the hike.
Hot Showers
Hot showers are limited and usually available only in a few places, mostly as hot bucket showers. Carrying quick-dry towels and warm clothes for after your shower is a good idea.
Accommodation
You will mostly stay in local homestays. These are simple, clean, and cozy homes where you get a real taste of village life. Staying here also supports the local communities directly, which is an important part of responsible trekking.
